Glossary Term M – 100 Best Credit Reports

Manner of Payment (MOP)
Statements on a consumer's credit report that tell about payment habits. (i.e. delinquent, prompt, etc.) 

Merged credit report
A more comprehensive credit report that combines the information from the three major credit bureaus.

Minimum payment

The very smallest amount that a consumer must pay to avoid defaulting on a loan.

A loan used to purchase property. This is most commonly a person buying a house, where the house itself is the security for the loan.

Mortgage account number
A reference number assigned by a creditor for a specific mortgage account. This number is usually located within the monthly statement or coupon book issued with the loan.
